Hues and Dews Poetry

As humans we have come this far; So why not make love instead of war? The fighters never come back in one piece, So why not strive for world peace?  Battles without any reason or cause, Ending in bloodshed and population loss.  It takes years to build  but only seconds to destroy, So why not stop wars and aim for peace, unity, and joy?  -Rithin. 

I'm forever indebted to you, Even more in this month of May; For bringing me Into this world one day.  Your love is the only thing I need.  Forever a blessing indeed.  For doing everything for us,  Even sometimes by going out of your way, Here is me wishing you a  Happy mother's day.  -Rithin. 

In a world filled with  bitter betrayals and gruesome grimness, you are my only happy memory.  So, when going through  this miserable marathon called life,  I just hold on tight to the smiles  and laughter you gave me. People fade but I hope the memories last,  Since here I am fighting against the present with just my past.  -Rithin. 

We are just cities and towns. Maybe even valleys and mounts.  We form bonds like bridges, Connecting each of our edges.  Sometimes there are fights and brawls, Making us put up borders and walls.  Some bridges expand and grow, while others burn and glow.  Sometimes we watch them  burn to the ground, All while trying to build  more bridges all around.  -Rithin. 

If I could go back in time, I would hold your hand longer; perhaps even kiss you deeper.  And when you say “It’s over between us.”,  instead of weeping, My heart would simply cease beating.  An instant death of love, Instead of this life sentence with misery and remorse.   -Rithin. 

Years have gone by without you But I may still be under your spell, Since even now  the air carries with it your smell. -Rithin. 

During a monsoon shower, Together we ran to find a cover. Finding a shade under a mighty tower, You clung to me like an eternal lover.  When the rain stopped, you walked away fast; Leaving everything behind, even our past. The sun rays started beaming at last, But my life suddenly turned overcast.  -Rithin. 

With people rushing in and storming out, My heart had turned into a hotel room. Sometimes completely full And at times, vacant for weeks. As if sensing an impending doom, No one dared to stay for long.  Then you turn it into a home,  Bringing in peace and prosperity after all the chaos.  -Rithin. 

Darkness and dread filled my days  As I tried walking through life; An intricate maze. I realized that all I needed was some space, As I took a step back from the rat race. Perhaps taking a deep breath, And going at my own pace.   -Rithin.

I thought I met you for a reason  But like others that passed through my life, I now realize that This was also meant for just a season. -Rithin.

You took my breath away And now even my sleep; Since tonight I lay wide awake, Counting sheep after sheep.  ~ Rithin. 

People leave and memories stay But some haunt you day after day. Often hurtful and upsetting, In the end,  somethings are better worth forgetting. ~Rithin. 

You tell me that your eyes burn and swell But beloved, did you forget  that it's where the galaxies dwell?  Oh, the countless tales it awaits to tell; But with a heavy heart I hope it's everything except farewell.  -Rithin.

I have loved you selflessly, but sadly you had no clue. For me it's too late to go back now As I have lost myself loving you. -Rithin.  

Like sand moving through an hourglass, I can see you slipping away from my life. But all I can do is watch, As there is nothing in me to hold you back Since all the years and people passing by Have left me hollow and empty.  ~Rithin. 

You keep painting pictures, vivid and bright  But the whole world remains forever colorblind. And after rummaging through layers, I finally found you by the clues you have left behind. Your true essence was always hidden behind a veil; Often misunderstood and misread, Like a poem written ages ago. And now that your appear more clear,  like when the sun lifts the hazy fog, Is it possible for you to stay, rather than go?  ~Rithin. 

Two Lost souls in this world Yet worlds apart, you and I. We are next to each other,  Yet remain so far away. -Rithin.

I'm forever grateful for  All the sacrifices you have made; And all the times for my fortune you have prayed. I became what I am today All because of You. Or else I would have been a sheep without a shepherd; Lost without a clue. Thank you for being my guardian angel  and my guiding light. And helping me understand what's wrong and right.  Even though I'm so far away, On this beautiful day in May, Like what you always say, I too hope to make you proud one day.  -Rithin. 

It almost feels like I'm watching a movie,  a drama, or even a mime.  As everything seems to be drifting away, People, places, and even time. Right as I open up,  they leave me like I committed a crime; And here I am once again stuck with just my poems that rhyme.  -Rithin. 

I wasn't in love. Love was in me.  A tinge of romance in everything, Whatever it may be.  For love, I will cross any ocean,  even the Atlantic. And in this lifetime and the next, I shall remain a hopeless romantic.  ~Rithin.
