I incidentally came across this book and the title itself grabbed by attention. Right away I started reading. It was quite a memorable day because it was also the day my final year MBBS results came out. It was indeed an euphoric moment because along with the results came with prefix I could carry for rest of my life, "Dr". All this events only added more desire for me to sit down and enjoy this novel.

I very much liked the plot because I was able to related to it and could draw similarities between my life and the ones of the main characters. The phases one goes through and the hurdles they have to jump to become a doctor is described very much like the metamorphosis of a butterfly. Having gone through medical school myself and also seeing professors, senior faculties, and consultant doctors, the author succeeds in showing the backstage events occurring inside and around a medical doctor and the trails and tribulations they have to go through, all in a natural, non exaggerated manner. The novel also serves to point out the fact that in the end of the day, doctors are human beings as well, just wanting to see the well being and betterment of his/her fellow beings and the world all together.

Although a medical student or doctor could very much relate to the plot, I believe that this novel could be enjoyed by everyone as it offers the unique opportunity to take a look at the inner workings and processes that makes one a doctor, healer, or even a compassionate human being.
