Book Review: സിൽക്കിന്റെ കഥ: Story of Silk Smitha by Adi Mithra, Akhil Das

This extremely concise biography felt incomplete and somewhat dry.

It would have been better if the authors had taken the time to do more research and dwell into Silk Smitha’s life and explore the internal turmoils she felt and the inner battles she fought, which ultimately led to her suicide. To have committed to writing and publishing a book about Silk Smitha’s life, and then just merely stating things that could be found on Wikipedia, the authors have let down and disappointed the readers. There was a lot of potential for this biography but it falls flat due to its superficiality and lack of in depth analysis. By merely stating some facts and trivias about her life in general, this book fails to provide any additional information or analysis about the actress or the inner struggles she felt.
