2024: My chrysalis into adulthood

New Year’s Eve during my college years were all about partying, having fun, and just living the best moments of our young, energetic lives. Fast forward to the New Year's Eve today (12/31/24), here I am setting up my Toyota Financial Services App on my iPad I purchased recently with my humble earnings.                                                                                                                             This year has been that of change, evolution, and metamorphosis.  A chrysalis of sorts. It’s the year I grew up and completed my transformation from boyhood to manhood. From a carefree medical graduate to a working class man. It all began with me purchasing a humble Casio A158 wrist watch, a timeless classic with my own money.  The year continued to move swiftly with me flying alone domestically within the US for the first time from Baltimore, Maryland to Detroit, Michigan in the Spring after taking my medical licensing exam.  I started doing clinical rotations and volunteering. I am so fortunate to get my very first job. With my earnings, I started to purchase and enjoy things I always wanted. My financial literacy has been improving as I have started to deal with credit cards, direct deposits, and car loans.  I am extremely fortunate to end this year as a first time car owner.

I am happy to learn new things about adulting each day and it actually makes me both proud and happy about all the opportunities I have gotten so far in my life.  I enjoy my early morning gym workouts, morning cup of coffee, commute to the office, NPR, Spotify, office lunches, the commute back, the sound of my hybrid engine, public holidays, being a working class adult. The regular shaving of beard and the wholehearted embracement of a very thick, bushy mustache really completed my chrysalis into adulthood.

Despite being  commonly attributed as  mundane, I am truly enjoying these activities. As we leap into the year 2025, I am eager to learn and continue to evolve as a recently minted adult.  Oh man, the Tax Season can't get here fast enough!
