Hues and Dews Poetry

From the very moment their souls became one, a battle began. It was a war fought by two tender hearted lovers against a world; one that was run by rules written by culture, language, heritage and the most potent one, religion.  Despite trying all that they could to make peace with that venomous force, somehow it kept lurking back into their small but wonderful world, perhaps creating a barricade between the mented souls. It even came to a point where there was self doubt within themselves as if there was a rule that social norms and religious values have to be taken as the primary requirement for "soul finding". Sadly there was a limit to what two naïve  lovers can do to fight back.  Sure, the world written with unholy truths and ran by spiritual lies might have won this round but this is not the end of it in any sense. As they parted their ways, he hugged her and said " Our souls might never be together in this life but in the next life or the life after that, we will e...

Memories about you aren't replaced but simply lost in a black hole; an abyss,  with more and more fragments pilling up one after the other, forming a heap. Over time that heap has become a volcanic mountain, making even the first letter of your name or the faint smell of your hair lingering somewhere in the air to become a stimulus powerful enough to cause an eruption;  one potent enough to stir up my dormant heart, tormenting my soul to run away from this abyss to the next.  ~ Rithin.

The stars were jealous of her eyes. The pearls were jealous of her smile. The nature was jealous of her beauty. And the fate, jealous of their love. -Rithin. 

They were not eyes, but an entire galaxy; Radiant enough to loose some sleep. Alluring enough to be lost in thought. And charismatic enough to fall in love.                                                                                     - Rithin 

Darling, let's run away to the cites that never sleep. Let's make them the  nights without any weep. Oh the experiences and memories we can keep. With you two, I'm in love so very deep.             - Rithin

Many moons ago  I laid my eyes upon her. Alluring, shimmering and even hypnotising She left me out of breath. But through the fast lane of life She drifted away a little too quickly, Becoming an enigma wrapped in a riddle. Or perhaps a harmony that came out of a fiddle. -Rithin. 

It was a timeless tale of love; They rose at different hours. They saw the world in different shades. They couldn't exist at the same time, But their love blossomed  behind the veil of darkness, Making her the sun,  and him the moon.  -Rithin.

When the songs that once broke your heart, including the ones with lyrics which at the time felt like jagged glass slithering your throat, starts to feel like they are covered in essence of love, you know that the season of spring has arrived. The rain droplets have started to kiss the ground as the baggage that has forever hogged you down have finally vanished into the thin air, making you light as a feather. It's time to let go and live. Go on and start loving, but most importantly, never forget to love yourself first! ~ Rithin. 

The moon came down And gave your face a glow; Illuminating crevices of your town Gently, easy and slow. I came in for a kiss At the bank of a lake. But it was a miss As it was time for day break.  ~ Rithin. 

Religion, caste and creed ton after ton. These archaic beliefs, together let's shun.  Let's break this chain of slavery and run; And have a picnic in the heart of this world, Right under the rising sun.  -Rithin. 

He was still in love And so was she. He knew it all along. And so did she. He let it slip by And so did she. He was scared to get hurt. And so was she. Guess He ran away from destiny. And so did she... -Rithin. 

Through the stained window of that antique store our eyes met each other. While your radiance took away my breath, you disappeared into the oblivion in a blink of an eye. Centuries have passed but I still search for your aura, isle after isle.  If not in this life, maybe in the next one, I'll rummage through the heap of faces, pile after pile.  -Rithin. 

In that deep forest called love, He was a mango tree.  Flourished and outgrown were his branches of love, With sweetness and affection growing in his alcove.  For her, he bore fruits from his soul, While in the blistering heat, provided her with shade.  In the winter, cut down were his branches to make firewood, But the warmth of the fire was not even enough to keep her stone cold heart tepid. -Rithin.

A folder filled with bookmarked articles. A gallery overflowing with screenshots. Sometimes its not just stories and kisses I miss sharing with you.                                                                                                                                                                     ~ Rithin.

In that pouring rain,  As the fear of getting our fragile hearts shattered  flew away like an umbrella,  I found myself embracing you. While a droplet of rain was making love to the soil, My heart was busy, Singing a duet with yours. -Rithin. 

You are that half way read novel I have stacked somewhere in my cupboard. Once I was immensed in your contents but there came an abrupt stop. Now the desire to be lost in your pages remain, but as days pass by, your stories have become nothing but a heap of long lost memories I wish to bury somewhere deep.  And for that no cupboards or drawers will be enough.  ~ Rithin. 

As long as the two are in love,  The earth will not quit rotating. As long as the two are with each other, The sun will never fail to rise. My love, you are a wound that never healed. Getting over you is the only cure but  With everything in this world constantly reminding me of you, I have turned into a kid who always keeps picking at the scabs and pulling out the bandage. I guess someday time will heal this deep cut but I'll have to live with the scar forever, Just like the memories you have left behind. -Rithin. 

You gifted my heart with a crown made out of barbed wire, And a glowing outfit stitched out with nothing but burning fire. You turned that poetry machine called my heart, Into a stone incapable of love, not even a little part. Yet with all these slashes and scars, Along with the pain and pressure it has endured, It bleeds words day and night, Making a letter thanking you for keeping it away for a little while, In the deep caverns of your soul, Away from sight and away from any light. ~Rithin

I have been longing for your embrace for ages now. In the heat that dried up my soul, all I ever wanted was your touch.  And When the rays were burning through me,  all I did was beg for your presence. When I thought all the hopes were gone, And When I lost all my faith,  like a nostalgic monsoon memory,  you arrived at my doorstep.  Your embrace cooled my body. As your touch made my heart overflow. Your presence gave me the aroma of wet soil. I am the mid summer earth, While you are the rain that is dancing outside my bedroom window right now.  -Rithin.
